DAY-IN-THE-LIFE

The "Day-in-the-Live" video is used to document the extent and severity of injuries. This medium is especially effective in demonstrating how the life of the person has been impacted as a result of sustained injuries.

This video is not meant to provide continuous, minute-to-minute record of the daily life, but rather an illustration of the impact the injuries had on person's lifestyle and daily routines.

Most courts will allow admission of "Day-in-the-Life" video presentations as evidence to be shown to the judge and the jury. The footage can also be used during the settlement process as a powerful negotiation-support tool.

During the video editing, the final footage should be reduced for presentation to the total length of about 10-15 minutes. Each tape edit point should be clearly noticeable to indicate time progression. In addition, the imprint of the date, and the time-of-day counter should be included at the bottom of screen. The time-coded original source tapes should be retained for future reference.

We recommend that the term "Day-in-the-Life" be used only as a reference during the production of the video, and avoided in court proceedings. There were reports of objections raised in courts over misleading nature of this title.
